Cedar Creek Sporting Clays Hosts First Annual Sporting Clay Invitational on Deck of Historic Warship Battleship New Jersey

CAMDEN, NJ — Cedar Creek Sporting Clays, in partnership with the Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial, recently welcomed 80 competitors aboard for the First Annual Sporting Clay Invitational, an unforgettable and unprecedented event held right on the deck of America’s most decorated battleship.

The competition featured a 50-clay preliminary round, followed by two elimination rounds on a custom-built trap layout provided by Cedar Creek Sporting Clays. The event brought together enthusiasts, veterans, and corporate teams in a spirited showcase of marksmanship and camaraderie, all in support of preserving the Battleship and its mission of education and remembrance.  Live music and cigar rolling topped things off.

After the opening round, the top four teams advanced to a 24-clay playoff, with the top two teams moving into the Championship Round for one final 24-clay shootout.

Team Champions: Troopers United Foundation

·       Preliminary Round: 132/200

·       Playoff Round: 68/96

·       Championship Round: 68/96

The Troopers United Foundation claimed victory in the team competition, showing consistency and precision across all three stages.

Top Individual Shooter: David Budd (Spartan Digital Team)

·       Preliminary Score: 44/50

David Budd distinguished himself as the top marksman of the day, posting an outstanding score of 44 out of 50 clays to take home the individual title.
